At our firm, transparency and clarity are at the core of our client relationships. We believe it’s important for you to comprehend the breakdown of the fees associated with our legal services. When you engage our services, you are charged a legal fee for the professional assistance we provide.
It’s crucial to note that these fees are exclusively for our legal services and do not cover government charges such as Visa fees, Bio-metrics, or any other fees imposed by Immigration Canada (IRCC).
The legal fees you pay us are securely held in an Escrow or In-Trust Account. This secure handling of your funds adheres to the Professional Code of Conduct set forth by CICC. According to this code, our counselors are only authorized to withdraw the funds from this account once they have fulfilled their duties as outlined in the Service Agreement. This practice ensures accountability and underscores our commitment to delivering the services you deserve.
We prioritize your understanding and peace of mind throughout the legal process. Should you have any questions or require further clarification regarding our fees and processes, please do not hesitate to reach out. Your confidence in our services is our utmost priority.
If you are a resident of Ontario, you will be liable to HST of 13% over and above the final amount of legal fee.
For residents of Alberta, you will be liable to GST of 5% over and above the final billable legal fee.
Note: these are often more complex and fees may vary. Before agreeing to be retained, we will provide an estimate of the costs.
Deposits and Payments
For permanent residence matters, generally we require a deposit of $4,000. For temporary residence and all other matters, we require the full amount of our fees as a deposit. This is not refundable due to the fact that we begin our work on the file as soon as the deposit is received. Once the application is prepared, the client is billed for the full amount (legal fees, application fees, taxes and disbursements) less the original deposit amount. Invoices must be paid within two weeks. We accept payment by cheque, cash, wire transfer, online payment (we send a link with the invoice), Interac email transfer and credit card (Stripe).
